Before we get to this week’s tips we have something to introduce to you…
When people have a holiday they often ask us for ways to continue improving their English outside of the classroom.
This made us think, what is the easiest way for someone to practice their English?
Well, one answer is podcasts.
“I don’t have time to listen to podcasts!”
Well, the beauty of podcasts is that you can be doing other things while listening:
Driving in your car, cooking dinner, training in the gym, walking the dog.
Whatever you are doing, do it while listening to something interesting…in English.
“I don’t have time to find podcasts!”
No problem. We have found some interesting podcasts for you. Just click the button below:
This page is a new resource for our students. Where you will have a growing list of interesting conversations to listen to.
We will keep one podcast at the top of the page as a Podcast of the week.
This week’s is about sleep. We challenge you to listen to it and answer the question below. The most interesting answer will be published next week.
In your opinion what is the best recommendation and why?
“But I don’t understand because they speak too quickly!”
Don’t worry about that either. Spotify allows you to play the podcasts slightly slower, so you can understand better.
Choose the best speed for you
So make sure to check out the Podcast page. Bookmark it. We will keep updating it with the most interesting ones we find.
Enjoy your day off tomorrow!
This week’s 3 tips:
Something to avoid 🫣
🤦🏻♀️ "I am going to take a beer"
Sure you could take a beer. You could take one out of the fridge. But remember in English we use “take” for medicine and drugs.
My doctor told me to take two pills every day.
✅ "I am going to have a beer"
When we talk about consuming food or drink we always use “have”.
Where do you want to have lunch?
What did you have for dinner last night?
Something to sound confident 🧐
👔 Business jargon explained
"Bottom line"
The final total of the account or the balance sheet.
We have sold more this year but the company’s bottom line hasn’t increased
Something silly 😅
