Today is my favourite day of the year.
When I was younger I looked forward to this day more than Christmas.
It is the best of days.
But what day is today? Why is this Tuesday in February special?
Well friends, today is Pancake Day!
Pancake Day!?
The UK, Australia, Canada and not to forget Ireland, all celebrate today as Pancake Day. Known as Mardi Gras in France and the USA.
It is the day before the start of lent, when people give up tasty food such as eggs, butter and sugar for 40 days. Or at least that’s what people used to do.
People would use up all these ingredients and make pancakes.
So here is a recipe for you all to enjoy.
Enjoy Pancake Day everyone!

This week’s 3 tips:
SOMETHING TO AVOID 🫣
🤦🏻♀️ ‘It didn’t happen anything’
Just awful. Never say this.
✅ ‘Nothing happened’
‘Nothing’ is the subject not ‘it’. So you can’t say ‘it didn’t happen anything’
Nothing happened after you left.
Nothing happened to them.
SOMETHING TO SOUND CONFIDENT 🧐
👔 Business jargon explained
‘By the skin of our teeth’
Spanish version: ‘por los pelos’
By a very narrow margin. Only just.
We escaped disaster by the skin of our teeth
