We get asked this question all the timeβ¦
Whatβs the difference between βworthβ and βworthyβ?
Letβs start with worth.
If something vale la pena, then βitβs worth it".
You can also use it with a noun or gerund:
Is the Easter Intensive Course worth doing?
Yes! It is worth the time, the money and the effort!
Simple, right?
Worthy on the other hand means, βdeserving ofβ or βcapable ofβ.
You might hear something like, βhe was a worthy leaderβ, or βit was a worthy causeβ. Meaning that they had the character or value required.
But most of the time it will be used at the end of an adjective:
Do you think they are trustworthy? (Deserving of your trust)
The car isnβt roadworthy. (Capable of going on the road)
I hope that this was worth reading!

If itβs in the news then its βnewsworthyβ
A video worth 30 seconds of your time!
This Easter we will be having 4-day intensive English courses. Short courses that are designed specifically for each individual student.

β βTonightβ
βEsta nocheβ is tonight, so be careful.
Where do you want to eat tonight?
