✨Presenting: Newsletter Companion

#055

Happy Friday, everyone!

This week’s newsletter is on the theme of listening.

We are very happy to present to you our new A.I. powered podcast!

Introducing The Newsletter Companion—a short podcast where two hosts explore the latest ideas from The Crystal Clear English Newsletter.

Each newsletter edition will be accompanied by a 5-15 minute companion episode, adding a fresh perspective on the content of the newsletter.

Remember, if they speak too quickly, both YouTube and Spotify allow you to change the playback speed.

You can listen on YouTube or Spotify, and don’t forget to subscribe!

Continuing on the theme of listening…

You may have noticed that it’s possible to listen to the newsletter now. In the top right corner you will see “listen online”.

If you click on it you can sit back and listen to the newsletter instead of reading it. It works best in our app, so download it today! Here explains how.

Last week’s edition was read in the voice of Lily, while this edition is read by Daniel.

This week’s three tips:

SOMETHING TO AVOID 🫣

🤦🏻‍♀️ “Listen him”

You must always add “to” before the object with “listen.”

With “hear”, on the other hand, we don’t need to say “to.”

I can hear him

They can hear us

“Listen to him”

With listen we need to say that we listen to someone or something.

I am trying to listen to them

She couldn’t listen to the speech

SOMETHING TO SOUND CONFIDENT 🧐

👔 Business expressions

“Ears to the ground”

Being aware of what’s happening in an industry or situation by staying connected to information and developments.

We need to keep our ears to the ground for new partnership opportunities.
