🕔 The 5 minute course
#058
While you’re working on your English, I’m trying to learn Greek—and let me tell you, it’s a challenge!
Starting from scratch, my progress has been slow.
Duolingo has helped, but I wanted more, so I turned to ChatGPT for backup.
I know many of you are pressed for time.
So, I’ve made it easy for you to do the same in English.

Just copy the entire text into Chat GPT and change the text in numbers one, two, and three to set your level, interests, and learning focus.
Personalise it and then paste it into ChatGPT, and voilà—a custom seven-day English course!
Just five minutes a day—no excuses!

This week’s three tips:
SOMETHING TO AVOID 🫣
🤦🏻♀️ “Go to the bed”
I know you’re thinking “la cama”, but in English we don’t need to say “the”.
✅ “Go to bed”
When we say this, we’re referring to these places not just as physical locations but as functions or purposes.
This use of nouns without “the” is called the zero article, and it applies when the noun represents an activity or role associated with the place.
We need to go to hospital
It’s time to go to school
SOMETHING TO SOUND CONFIDENT 🧐
👔 Business expressions
“Cut to the chase”
To skip unnecessary details and get directly to the main point or important information
We don’t have much time in this meeting, so let’s cut to the chase and discuss the budget issues first.
