Use music to improve your English
This week’s 3 tips:
SOMETHING TO AVOID 🫣
🤦🏻♀️ “He win me”
Make sure to use “win” when talking about what someone achieves or what they win.
He will win the race
She won a prize
✅ “He beat me”
Use “beat” when talking about who someone defeats.
She beat her brother in tennis.
Barça beat Real Madrid 4-0
🎯 Quick Tip: If you’re talking about a person you defeated, use beat. If you’re talking about an achievement or prize, use win.
SOMETHING TO SOUND CONFIDENT 🧐
👔 Business expressions
“Bear market”
A prolonged period of declining asset prices. It’s often associated with pessimism, economic slowdowns, and investor caution. The term contrasts with a bull market, which signifies rising prices and optimism.
Bear markets can be challenging but are also part of the natural market cycle. As the saying goes, “Every bear market plants the seeds of the next bull market.”
