🌉Bridges & Bank holidays
#082
Hi everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend.
With last Thursday being a holiday, I imagine that many of you took advantage and enjoyed a long weekend.
Un puente as you say in Spanish.
In the UK, public holidays are moved to Mondays, which usually gives people a three-day weekend. We call them Bank holidays.
In Spain, though, puentes often turn into four-day breaks.
Or even longer some times.
One year I remember we had un acueducto!
Have a productive week.

How many of you enjoyed an aperitif with friends this weekend?
This week’s three tips:
SOMETHING TO AVOID 🫣
🤦🏻♀️ “I did a puente”
You would never do a puente. You could have a long weekend though:
We had a long weekend in the south of France
✅ “I took Friday off”
It’s better to say that you take a day off.
Did you take Friday off or did you work?
SOMETHING TO SOUND CONFIDENT 🧐
👔 Business expressions
“Burn bridges”
To damage a relationship so badly that it can’t be repaired.
Never burn your bridges. You never know when you will need to cross them again.
