BEFORE WE DIVE IN

Take two minutes for your pronunciation

What’s bouncebackability, you ask?

Well, it means the ability to bounce-back:

To recover quickly from a setback, illness or difficulty.

You see we all get sick.

We all make mistakes.

We all fall out of our routines.

And that’s why your ability to recover, to get back on track, matters so much.

Because things rarely go perfectly.

But accepting this and recovering as quickly as possible is vital.

So next time you suffer a setback, focus on shortening the time it takes to return to winning ways.

Turn a new page.

Show resilience.

Demonstrate that you have bouncebackability.

Until next week 👋

Bounce back and get back on track

This week’s three tips:

SOMETHING TO AVOID 🫣

🤦🏻‍♀️ “I recuperated”

You might think recuperar is recuperate in English. But the reality is it works a little differently.

Recuperate is rare, formal, and not used for everyday situations like having a cold, being tired, or returning to routine.

It sounds old-fashioned and overly dramatic in contexts with colds, minor illnesses and fatigue,

You can use recuperate, but only in specific contexts. Wither formal medical situations or when you need time for rest and recovery

He’s recuperating in hospital after the operation

She needs time to recuperate after surgery

I went away to the countryside to recuperate

“I recovered”

For normal illnesses or dips in energy, natives use recover, although there are many other options

I’ve recovered from my cold

She got over the cold.

He bounced back quickly

They are back to normal

SOMETHING TO SOUND CONFIDENT 🧐

👔 Business expressions

“Back on track”

When something is back on track, it has returned to the right direction or normal progress after being interrupted, delayed, or messed up.

Think of a train:

If it comes off the rails, it can’t move forward properly.

Once it’s put back on the rails, it’s back on track.

“We’re behind schedule, but we’re back on track now.”
