I was speaking to someone about the year ahead last week.

While listening to the plans of my interlocutor I was reminded of a video I saw.

It describes a framework to plan a great year.

A key component of which is the Japanese concept of misogi.

@jesseitzler

These 3 things will change your life: 1. Misogi Challenge: Do something extremely hard once a year. 2. Kevin’s Rule: Plan six mini-adventu... See more

Jesse Itzler, an entrepreneur (that’s French by the way), describes it as such:

The notion around the misogi is you do something so hard one time a year that it has an impact the other 364 days of the year

Put one big thing on the calendar that scares you, that you never thought you could do, and go out and do it

So doing something rememberable, something that this year will be remembered for.

My question to you then is, what will your misogi be in 2026?

We know ours.

You’ve got a blank canvas in front of you

This week’s three tips:

SOMETHING TO AVOID 🫣

🤦🏻‍♀️ “I’ve been preparing since months ago”

Desde hace meses, so you’re thinking…

Desde is since and hace is ago. What’s the problem?

Well yea, but not when they are together like this.

Since is desde or desde que, and describes a point in time.

I’ve been reading this since 2023

I’ve read this since it was first published.

It was first published over 2 years ago

“I’ve been preparing for months ”

On the other hand, for periods of time, we say for.

Better to think…meses, months

Months = period of time.

And like since, always in the present perfect.

I’ve been reading CCE Weekly for years now.

SOMETHING TO SOUND CONFIDENT 🧐

👔 Business expressions

“Non-negotiable”

(adjective)
