The Japanese have an idea called wabi-sabi.
It’s something I was reminded of this weekend.
We spent Saturday morning decorating some dishes/bowls that we’d made by hand.
You can probably tell, we’re not professionals.
Nevertheless, we enjoyed the experience and have an appreciation for what we made ourselves.

The idea behind wabi-sabi is simple.
There is beauty in the imperfection.
“Flawed beauty”, you might say.
That an object doesn’t lose value because it is asymmetrical or rough.
In many ways, that’s where its value comes from.
In Japanese philosophy, imperfection isn’t something to eliminate.
It’s something to pass through.
A step toward Satori—enlightenment.
So for the perfectionists amongst you…
Those of you striving to be flawless in your work, your communication, your English.
Remind yourself of this from time to time:
Wabi-sabi nurtures all that is authentic by acknowledging three simple realities: nothing lasts, nothing is finished and nothing is perfect
Wishing you a great week.
Not a perfect one.
A real one.

Don’t seek perfection
This week’s three tips:
SOMETHING TO AVOID 🫣
🤦🏻♀️ “He is very perfectionist”
In Spanish, you say: “Es muy perfeccionista.”
Here, perfeccionista works like an adjective.
But in English, “perfectionist” is a noun, not an adjective.
We also use “very” with an adjective. Not a noun.
✅ “He is a perfectionist”
When you describe someone in English:
👉 Check: is this a noun or an adjective?
Because that decision changes the entire structure.
He is very detail-oriented
He pays a lot of attention to detail
SOMETHING TO SOUND CONFIDENT 🧐
👔 Business expressions
“Work in progress”
Something that is not finished yet, but is actively being developed or improved.
It implies movement, iteration, and refinement. Not perfection.
Many professionals feel the need to present everything as complete and perfect. But in reality, strong communicators do the opposite.
They acknowledge what’s unfinished and signal that improvement is ongoing.
The system is a work in progress, but it’s improving
We’re still refining it
We’re iterating on this
We’re in the process of improving it
