I don’t have much to say about it other than that it is depressing.

Be careful when translating “pensar en”.
✅ “Thinking about”
It is better to say “think about” or “thinking of.” Remember that if you use a verb make sure that it is in the gerund form (-ing).
I am thinking about what happened last week
She is thinking of moving to Portugal

“Fight fires”
Spending time on problems that need to dealt with quickly. Rather than in a calm and planned way.
It seems that nowadays we spend all our time fighting fires instead of making any progress!
